About Me

How I got into teaching yoga
I’ve always been someone who loved movement.
Growing up as a lanky kid, fitness helped me build confidence — and for years, I focused on strength training and building muscle. It felt good to push myself and see progress, and that phase taught me discipline and consistency.

But over time, I realised something important:
Strength isn’t very useful if your body can’t move well.

As I got deeper into weights and calisthenics, I hit a wall. My hips were tight, certain movements felt restricted, and there was always a sense that something was missing in my practice. That’s when I first stepped into a yoga class — not for spirituality, not for flexibility, but simply to understand my own body better.

Yoga quietly started filling the gaps I didn’t know how to address.
And then in April 2024, when I was unexpectedly laid off from my job, I finally had the space to ask myself what I truly wanted to do. I knew I wanted to stay connected to fitness, but I also wanted to do something that felt meaningful — something that actually helped people move, feel, and live better.

So instead of choosing another strength-based path, I decided to go deeper into yoga.
I completed my 200-hour Hatha Yoga teacher training at Samyak Yoga in Mysore, and those weeks changed everything for me. The teachers, the philosophy, the depth of practice — it all showed me that this is what I wanted to commit myself to. I later trained again and completed a 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga certification, and gradually found myself studying more anatomy, exploring different styles, and wanting to understand movement from every angle.

Teaching came naturally after that.
I started with Cult Fitness, then expanded into freelance group classes, private coaching, and retreats. I’ve had the chance to work with students from all kinds of backgrounds — beginners with stiffness, people recovering mobility, those wanting strength, flexibility, or simply a consistent practice.

What I enjoy most is the connection.
Whether it’s a group or a one-on-one class, understanding what someone needs and helping them move in a way that supports their life — that’s what excites me. I try to meet every student exactly where they are and build from there.

This journey still feels new in many ways. I’m learning constantly, improving my craft, and deepening my understanding of how the body works. But every class, every student, every session reminds me that I’m on the right path.

Yoga helped me find balance in my own life.
Now, I hope I can help you find yours.
